Consciously or not, many of my friends seem to have given dad bods tacit acceptance in their dating choices, far too. None of us are waiting around on the squat rack to talk to the dude with the perfect arms, and that includes the women in my social circle who enjoy spending a good amount of time from the health club themselves.

The stories show that body-shaming hurts. And nevertheless body-shaming is normalised, part of everyday experience, and should be even harder for guys to call out than women. We know that these comments hurt, but we can easily find it hard to elucidate why. The #EverydayLookism campaign may perhaps help someone understand and demonstrate why body-shaming is discriminatory and destructive.

I suppose till the next positive male body image motion rolls around, so most likely a while. It’s an empowering idea to know that someone finds your body attractive or incredibly hot or sexy.

The experience has left Pearson wanting to try and do more writing, and maybe even write a book someday. "I really look forward to composing more within the future," she said.

Pearson: A dad bod is a guy that is not very chiseled, but in the same time, will not be unhealthy. He’s not overweight. He’s most likely that male who played football in high school and came to college and didn’t play football.

Dadbod is, of course, what happens when a person only goes on the gymnasium sometimes but drinks beer and eats wings way more than that–a sturdy body with a layer of subcutaneous fat that makes it attractive to have him in your bed when it’s cold outside. It’s the bodily realization of the soul pliable more than enough to get talked into ordering pizza without any real energy, because he’s not trying to chop weight or experiment with intermittent fasting.


By now, over here you’ve definitely heard about the “father bod”. Gentlemen’s midsections haven’t been the topic of so many conversations since…probably ever. But how do women really
